Hi, my name is Rikisha Dionne Thomas, and I am the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for Charisma’s Heart. I also run my own practice, the Law Office of Rikisha D. Thomas, based in Los Angeles, CA. Before moving to Los Angeles, I earned my Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University-Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. Born and raised in Albany, NY, I always knew I would eventually make my way to California. Faith and perseverance guided me to leave behind the life I had always known and embark on a new journey here.
I am a mother of three children, and they are my world—my first priority. As a non-native Californian, I’ve had to start over in life. While I now have a support system, that wasn’t always the case. Imagine being a mother with no family, no friends, and no support system. Unfortunately, this scenario happens more often than we realize, and it’s exactly what Charisma’s Heart is here to prevent. We are committed to offering the support that mothers need, whatever form that may take.
As mothers, we often have dreams and goals that go unrealized because we allow our circumstances to hold us back. I used to believe that was just the way things were—until God showed me otherwise. My deep passion for helping mothers achieve their goals, all while keeping their children as their top priority, is what brought me to Charisma’s Heart. Like many, I balance my role as a mother and my career as an attorney. Although my children come first, I know that this is not always the reality for other mothers.
Charisma’s Heart exists to change that. We empower mothers to achieve their goals and make life transitions easier. Whether they need shelter, childcare, job training, medical services, or legal support, we are here. Our goal is to ensure mothers can be mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially whole, while still putting their children first. This is the vision of Charisma’s Heart, and it’s what we are working to achieve every day.
