We are looking for a passionate and experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team and help us amplify our message and expand our reach.
Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a key role in developing and executing the organization’s marketing and communication strategies. This position is responsible for creating and delivering compelling content that promotes our mission, programs, and impact to a broad audience, including donors, volunteers, and the community at large. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in nonprofit marketing, communications, and public relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to raise awareness of the organization’s mission, programs, and impact.
- Content Creation: Create, manage, and distribute content across various platforms, including the organization’s website, social media, newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all communications and marketing materials.
- Digital Marketing: Manage the organization’s digital presence, including website updates, social media accounts, and email marketing campaigns, to increase engagement and drive traffic.
- Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets, draft press releases, and manage media inquiries to secure coverage that highlights the organization’s work and impact.
- Fundraising Support: Collaborate with the development team to create compelling fundraising campaigns and donor communications, including appeals, event promotions, and donor recognition materials.
- Community Engagement: Develop and execute strategies to engage the community, including potential donors, volunteers, and partners, through events, outreach campaigns, and collaborative initiatives.
- Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts, providing regular reports to the Executive Director/CEO with recommendations for improvement.
- Crisis Communication: Manage the organization’s crisis communication strategy, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders during emergencies or critical incidents.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
Skills
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media management, email marketing, SEO).
- Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge: Understanding of nonprofit marketing and fundraising strategies, as well as experience in media relations and public relations.
