We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Program Manager to support the effective management and delivery of our programs. This role is vital in ensuring that our residents receive the resources and assistance they need to rebuild their lives.

Position Overview

The Assistant Program Manager works closely with the Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization’s residential programs. This position involves assisting in program planning, coordination, staff supervision, and direct resident support. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with strong communication skills and a passion for working with vulnerable populations. The Assistant Program Manager will play a key role in maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the programs while helping to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Support: Assist the Program Manager in planning, coordinating, and implementing residential programs. Ensure that all program activities align with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Resident Services: Support residents by providing direct services, including intake and assessment, case management, and referrals to community resources. Help develop and monitor individualized service plans for residents.
  • Staff Supervision: Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of program staff, volunteers, and interns. Provide support and guidance to staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to resident services, program activities, and outcomes. Assist in preparing reports for the Program Manager, Director of Programs, and funders.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing program-related events, workshops, and activities for residents. Coordinate logistics, secure resources, and ensure resident participation.
  • Crisis Management: Provide support during crisis situations, offering intervention and conflict resolution as needed. Ensure that staff are prepared to handle emergencies and follow established protocols.
  • Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness of the organization’s programs and services. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers.
  • Program Evaluation: Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programs, gathering feedback from residents and staff, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Compliance: Ensure that programs comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures. Assist in conducting safety inspections and addressing any compliance issues.
  • Budget Management: Assist in monitoring program expenditures and managing resources efficiently. Help identify funding needs and support fundraising and grant application efforts.
  • Resident Engagement: Encourage resident participation in program activities and foster a supportive community atmosphere within the residential facility.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination or management, preferably in a residential or social services setting. Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
