Charisma’s Heart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, temporary housing and comprehensive support services for low-income women and children. Our mission is to empower families to transition into stable and secure lives. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential program and ensure that our residents receive the highest quality of care and support.

Position Overview

The Residential Program Manager is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and coordination of the organization’s residential program. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, managing staff, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential program management, experience working with vulnerable populations, and a commitment to the organization’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential program, including intake and assessment, case management, and service delivery. Ensure that the program operates in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Resident Support: Ensure that residents receive appropriate services and support, including case management, counseling, and referrals to community resources. Work with residents to develop individualized service plans that address their needs and goals.
  • Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate residential program staff, including case managers, counselors, and support staff. Provide ongoing coaching, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure staff effectiveness.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the residential facility complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety codes. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly. Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all residents and staff.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the program budget, including monitoring expenditures, approving purchases, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Identify funding needs and collaborate with the development team to secure grants and donations.
  • Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to resident services, program activities, and outcomes. Prepare regular reports for the Director of Programs or Executive Director, as well as for funders and regulatory agencies.
  • Community Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers, and other stakeholders to enhance program services and opportunities for residents. Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and coalitions.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution services as needed. Ensure that staff are trained in crisis management and that appropriate protocols are in place.
  • Program Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the residential program, including assessing resident outcomes and satisfaction. Make recommendations for program improvements and implement changes as needed.
  • Resident Engagement: Develop and implement activities, workshops, and programs that promote resident engagement, personal development, and community building. Encourage residents to participate in program activities and take an active role in their own progress.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with at least 3 years in a residential setting. Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, is highly desirable.
